Take precautions

A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions.
The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.
Proverbs 22:3

I love this verse because it gives me clear direction.

I struggle with direction – what does God want me to do in this situation or that situation?

If we foresee danger, take precautions or prepare a way to avoid the danger, mitigate it, have a backup plan.

Take action now to avoid the danger.

Leaving CA a few years back was a big decision. The deteriorating state of justice in the state was a big reason why we left.

In hindsight, we should have prayed longer about it but I will say God had been preparing us for years.

We left because it was becoming unsafe. Crime, drugs and no punishment for doing those things. Costs rising, jobs dwindling, our taxes went to supporting a state government that did things contrary to what the Bible teaches. We were supporting what we hated by living there.

We miss our home. We miss family, the food, the beach. We miss this history of our lives there. My dad is buried there.

I don’t feel prudent, and at times I don’t think we are.

But I’m trusting God that it was the right decision.

We foresaw danger in this situation and eventually moved.

Let’s ask God to show us danger before it arrives, and then let’s do something to avoid it or mitigate it.

Jesus, please show us warnings of coming dangers so we can prepare. Make us prudent people Lord. Please! In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Seize this Saturday!

Enjoy your family, put in work towards your family goals, live out Jesus today and get some!

In the trenches with you,

Dave
