Waiting quietly before God = victory

I wait quietly before God,
for my victory comes from him.
Psalm 62: 1

I needed to hear this today.

Hit me deep in my soul. I’ve been seeking His help for direction on work, future plans on where to live etc.

I start to get overwhelmed as the situations pile up – whether they are big decisions or small ones. I feel like I can’t keep up and am afraid of making the wrong call.

These decisions are not sin/no sin or moral issues.

These are directional, action or no action decisions.

I love how in scripture David is recorded many times asking the Lord, “Should I attack?” Yes or no is the response from the Lord. I love that because David seeks God’s instruction – and then he obeys. God blesses David and calls him a “man after My own heart.”

It is easy for me to feel overwhelmed by all the things and situations but then I read this verse.

I will wait quietly before God because my victory comes from Him.

God knows everything I’m dealing with. He knows that I stress and worry about the what-ifs.

This verse brings me back to my center – Jesus.

I will sit and wait quietly before my God because my victory comes from Him.

As you deal with today, Friday, and all the things that are bombarding you – remember to wait quietly before your God, because your victory comes from Him.

Inhale……and exhale…..

Your victory comes from the Lord. Wait quietly before Him.

Have a great Friday.

Your brother in the trenches,
Dave
